Wired Ethernet connectivity allows Doran scales to connect directly to a Local Area Network (LAN) via a standard RJ-45 port. This option is available on all Doran Excel Series indicators, enabling high-speed data transfer (10/100 Mbps) from the plant floor to any networked computer. It leverages industry-standard TCP/IP networking, so once the scale is on your network, you can collect data or even remotely configure/monitor the indicator from any connected workstation. Leveraging existing network hardware makes this a cost-effective way to integrate scales into enterprise systems without special equipment.
KEY PERFORMANCE FEATURES INCLUDE
Real-Time Data
Transmit live weight readings over your existing Ethernet network for immediate data access and collection. Weight data flows directly to PC software or databases in real time.
Network Integration
Each scale on Ethernet is assigned an IP address (supports both static IP and DHCP). This allows direct communication with the scale through any computer on the network or even via a remote internet connection, using standard network protocols.
Rugged Connectivity
The wired Ethernet interface is designed for industrial environments. It features a sealed RJ-45 bulkhead connector on the indicator, exceeding NEMA 4X and IP67 washdown standards. A protective cap is provided to seal the port when not in use. This ensures a reliable, waterproof connection even in washdown or harsh conditions.
Remote Management
With the scale on the LAN, authorized users can remotely monitor weight readings or adjust indicator settings from their desk. This improves convenience and control—quality control data, production monitoring, and system adjustments can be done without physically accessing the scale.
